Dredging at Cap Sante Marina

Environmental dredging is scheduled to begin mid November at the Cap Sante Marina. Vessels moored at the northern docks at the Port of Anacortes have been moved in anticipation of the working consisting of dredging and dock repairs. Dredging will begin at M dock and progress east to N and O docks.

Testing results determined the material was unsuitable for open-water dredging. Contaminants are remnants of the lumber industry and protective vessel coatings. Approximately 5,100 CY of material will be dredged and transloaded  to rail cars for disposal in Roosevelt to relieve frequent grounding of dock floats at low tide.
